Samuel D’Avignon- Our Executive Chef
Samuel D’Avignon was born and raised in Middlebury, Vermont. With over 17 years of culinary experience, Sam brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to Cast Iron Catering. Having served as Soux Chef at a variety of Vermont eateries. He understands the value of sourcing local ingredients and building relationships with Vermont’s growers and producers. His experience ranges from classic French fare to modern twists on farm-to-table cuisine. Sam has a long history working for an award winning catering company, Season to Taste, in the Boston area. To continue on with the tradition of catering on-site and over a wood fire at Cast Iron Catering is a source of pride for Sam.
Joey Nagy- Owner
Hailing from northern California and in a kitchen since the age of 12, Joey brings nearly two decade of experience to Cast Iron Catering. His experience ranges from large scale hotels to fine dining restaurants and offers an in depth understanding of all aspects of the hospitality industry. He currently applies his expertise to overseeing operations at The Mad Taco, in Waitsfield and Montpelier, as well as the Mule Bar in Winooski. Joey has a passion for pork and for cooking on an open flame. He has recently gained local notoriety by pairing these two passions together by hosting specialty meals, pig roasts, and large festivals in the craft beer market.
Kristin Warner- Catering Director
Kristin serves as our Catering Director. She is tasked with coordinating between our clients and our kitchen and is dedicated to executing the vision that you bring to your important event. Kristin serves as the front-of-the-house manager at all of our large functions as she brings over a decade of experience coordinating events, functions and weddings.
Wes Hamilton- Owner
Wes is no stranger to the finer details of running restaurants, cafes and large scale festivals. Wes cut his teeth in the business of providing customers with good food and a good time, as a founding member of the now infamous Langdon Street Café in Montpelier and the Northeast Kingdom Music Festival in Albany, VT. His current endeavor is to serve as part-owner of the Three Penny Taproom, The Mad Taco and the Mule Bar. While we would never dare to schedule him a shift in any of Cast Iron Catering’s events, we can assure you that your invoices, contracts and payment for event staff will be coordinated at the skilled and watchful eye of Wes.
